Repositionable Notes

Repositionable Notes (RPNs) are similar to the concept of Custom Sticky Notes, but come with an added and powerful benefit: you can place RPNs on the outside of the mailing piece. The recipient can then remove the RPN from the piece and place it wherever they’d like. This adds a small degree of unique interactivity to your mailing piece, which can help it stand out from other static pieces.

1. The RPN, featuring your message or reminder to your clients or prospects.
2. The postal indicia.
3. The mailing address.

RPNs can also be used as general reminders for your clients and prospects, as in the following example:

While preprinted, generic RPNs can certainly be used with great success, a certain degree of personalization is also possible; and, as always, we feel very strongly that personalization of RPNs will only make a strong direct marketing technique even stronger.

Either way, an RPN can be removed from the mailing piece and affixed to any hard surface (eg. refrigerator, monitor etc.), where it will help to remind the client or prospect to commit to some particular action. Ultimately, this will help to avoid what is very likely one of the greatest hurdles of the sales and marketing cycle – the intended action that was forgotten or just never taken.

Cautionary Notes:

CN 1. Due to the particular nature of Repositionable Notes, certain key requirements and restrictions do apply for mailers who want to use RPNs in their direct mail campaigns. Some of the key restrictions are as follows: RPNs

• can only be used with the Addressed Admail, Unaddressed Admail and Publications Mail products.
• may only be applied to paper-based mailers, such as envelopes and postcards. They may not be applied to polybags or any other plastic carrier.
• must be applied by machine. They may not be applied manually.
• must be no larger than 76.2 mm x 76.2 mm or 3” x 3”.
• must be adhered to the mailing piece by a glue strip covering at least 1/3 of the entire RPN.

CN 2. Currently, acceptable RPNs are only available from 3M. They come on a large roll and are to be applied by a machine such as our KR-535 labeling system.
