Customs & Brokerage

All printed materials arriving in Canada must be processed through Canada Customs. Canada Customs will levy a 5% GST charge on the value (in Canadian funds) of the printed goods. Clients may arrange their own brokerage services if they wish. Alternatively, Highland Marketing’s broker can be used to import the materials, with all related charges billed back to the client.

The Canada Customs office that is closest to Highland Marketing is the Guelph Terminal. To avoid extra charges, shippers should specify clearance via the Guelph Terminal Warehouse. Otherwise the shipment is likely to go through Toronto, with extra storage and shipping charges (to house goods in a bonded warehouse and then ship them to the Guelph area).
