Do you need your own customer number? For the most part, the answer is yes. Canada Post uses customer numbers to track business volumes for given territories. Thus, they prefer that customers acquire their own customer numbers. In some instances mailers may use the customer number of a mail service provider. However, this practice is no longer encouraged.
If you have a customer number, but you do not have an LCP agreement, you may link your customer number to the LCP agreement number of a mail service provider.
