Whatever Happened to Bulk Mail in Canada?

A few years back, Canadian Addressed Admail, Unaddressed Admail and Publications Mail were all lumped under the general category of Bulk Mail, which was further broken down by class to correspond with the particular product. Since then, Canada Post has opted to use specific names and thus we have:

• Addressed Admail
• Dimensional Addressed Admail
• Unaddressed Admail
• Publications Mail

Today, the Canada Post definition of “Bulk Mail” is as follows:

Bulk Mail

An expression used in postal facilities to describe a quantity of mail.

So, there you have it. Bulk Mail still exists in a sense, but one has to be sure that they are using the term in the right context to describe the right product. In reality, most people now refer to these products by their respective names and the term Bulk Mail is not heard that frequently.
