Delivering Results with Unaddressed Admail
If your customers are consumers, other businesses and/or members of rural communities, Unaddressed Admail might complement your marketing programs more than you realize.
First of all, I want to note that there is a substantial difference between “flyer delivery” and Canada Post’s Unaddressed Admail service and, as I hope to show below, comparing one against the other is like comparing “apples to oranges”.
Probably the most startling difference is that Canada Post can actually help you to target your unaddressed pieces into specific demographics. Given this, you can decide what income levels, age groups, educational levels etc. that you want to reach. That’s powerful stuff and it is available to all Canadian mailers, as a value added service, through Canada Post’s GeoPost system.
Next, there is the fact that only Canada Post has the keys to condominium and apartment mail boxes. As such, many flyers that are to be delivered in local newspapers never make it past the lobby, because carriers are not permitted to go door to door within most multiple dwelling buildings. That’s not a good investment.
In addition to the GeoPost services mentioned above, the Canada Post web site provides counts for all communities, right down to individual letter carrier walks and it also features maps that you can use when planning your mailings. This provides you with the option of being able to target smaller groups within geographic areas and can be a huge asset when you might be interested in testing a particular marketing piece.
Unaddressed Admail also offers you flexibility in delivery times and you can decide the range of dates over which you want your pieces to be delivered. Did you know that many mailers plan for Monday – Wednesday delivery of their Unaddressed Admail to avoid being lumped in with the all of the coupons and flyers that arrive from various sources by various means on Thursdays and Fridays? Creating higher visibility creates more opportunity. Of course, we remain strong proponents of using different shapes, such as Roundcards™ and oval postcards, as they really help mailing pieces to stand out!
Sure the price is somewhat more than you might pay for volume distribution of flyers through community newspapers, but when you look at all you can get with Unaddressed Admail, that only makes “cents”.
Used properly, Unaddressed Admail is a powerful, yet cost-effective, marketing tool. If you want more information on Unaddressed Admail or its extensive features and options, you can visit the Canada Post web site or give us a call here at Highland Marketing.
