Over the past year we have mailed about 70,000 pillow boxes with product samples enclosed. The original physical design, which we helped to create, was intended for mailing as Dimensional Addressed Admail. Recently, though, we have a now come up with a new slim-line design for a pillow box that actually falls within spec for regular Addressed Admail!

Because pillow boxes are made of card stock and require manual insertions and tabbing, they are more expensive than plain envelopes. However, if you mail smaller samples or promotional or novelty items, and you are looking at making a positive impression, a custom-designed pillow box could be the answer.

To complement the pillow box, we have designed small, personalized cards and slips, measuring 2.75” X 4.25” that can be inserted with the contents. Of course, generic inserts can be used as well.

We have also developed various spacers to provide bridging and added support. Because of the design of a pillow box, if the sample or item that is inserted does not completely fill the space within, they can be subject to crushing. Of course, this is the last thing that you would want with a premium package!

We recognize that packaging of this type may not be appropriate in many cases and the majority of what we process still goes out in plain envelopes. However, as we have said before, making clients and associates aware of different options simply gives them more choices when planning direct marketing programs.
