Calculate Your Savings

If you’re currently mailing your promotional and marketing materials via Canada Post’s Lettermail product, you might be able to save on your postage costs with Addressed Admail, provided you meet certain minimum volume requirements.

The three key factors that determine how much you can save by using Addressed Admail are:

  • The number of pieces you mail
  • The size of the envelope you will mail and,
  • The total weight of the mailing piece.

This flat-rate calculator* uses the information that you input to determine the appropriate values for each of these factors. It then calculates what the postage would be for both Lettermail and NDG Addressed Admail. Finally, it takes the difference and tells you which option is the most cost-effective.

It is also worth noting that this calculator can be used for mailings that fall below the 1,000 piece minimum, to determine whether it is worth using Phantom Mail.

Caution: It must be noted that calculations are estimated based on estimated weights. Actual costs and savings can only be determined after weighing the actual mailing piece.

* This tool's calculations are based on the NDG (National Distribution Guide) Addressed Admail rates. LCP (Letter Carrier Presort) mailings usually offer significantly lower postage rates. However, we are using the NDG rates because LCP rates must be determined by a computerized sort. For an explanation of the differences between LCP and NDG see LCP Postage Rates.

Important: As of 2009, Addressed Admail includes a class of mail that can weigh in excess of 500 grams. Currently, this calculator does not support this new class and will only perform calculations up to 500 grams.

If you have a piece weighing more than 500 grams and are interested in the possible use of Addressed Admail, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would be please to discuss the matter with you.
