ROOF is a United Way member agency that believes that "one youth on the streets in one too many". Since 1989, ROOF has been committed to providing for the safety, support, and overall well-being of homeless youth and youth-at-risk, age 12-25, in the Waterloo Region. Our objective is to maintain the health/safety of street youth, by providing resources/services that will allow them to make positive choices to end the cycle of homelessness. We offer resources and linkages that will enable youth to develop the self-care skills needed to survive. Our programs/services are based on unconditional, positive regard. They include connected outreach, housing support, public education regarding homelessness, and a drop-in component that offers skills training, group and/or 1-1 counseling, family mediation, referrals, hot meals, food hampers shower and laundry facilities, advocacy, prescription medication subsidies, access to medication subsidies, access to medical care, clothing, and recreational opportunities.
