The Arthritis Society was founded in 1936 under the name of Canadian Rheumatic Disease Association, but during the Second World War was almost disbanded. In 1947 the founding members gathered together again became Canadian Rheumatism Association, and was finally renamed The Arthritis Society in 1977.
For over more than four decades The Arthritis Society has been dedicated to providing education, support in the community and research based solutions to people living with arthritis free of charge.
Today, more than 1.6 million Ontarians, including young children, are living with at least one of the many forms of arthritis, and arthritis is one of the leading causes of pain, and physical disability in Canada.
Fundraising is the biggest source of financial support to The Arthritis Society and its many programs. For information on how you can helps us, or for our current and upcoming events, please call us at 519-743-2820 or visit our website at www.arthritis.ca.
